Abranet Sheets

Mirka Abranet is a multi-functional abrasive especially developed for sanding a wide range of materials. Abranet combines high performance and a longer lifespan than traditional abrasives, making it a cost-effective solution. Designed for dry or wet sanding, it results in an incredible finish that regular sandpaper can’t match. I buy in bulk and cut 6″ strips, which are longer than what other provide (usually 5″). Five foot strips are also available (except for the 800 & 1000 grit).

Personally, I switched to Abranet from sandpaper many years ago. It’s all I use on my pens and other turned items.

Usage: For sanding wood, go no higher than 400 grit and then apply your finish. If you’re looking for a high gloss, sand your finish to 800 or 1000 grit and then polish. This can be with any of the polishing compounds, pads, or buffing wheels. For resin, sand up to 800 or 1000 grit and then polish to a high gloss.
